David

David is head of humanities at the Bavarian International School, Munich. When not teaching or carrying out original research, he leads 3rd Reich and WW2 tours in Munich for us. Having spent several years living and teaching in China, he is uniquely equipped to comment on the commonalities of one-party-states, propaganda and persecution, both in the past and in our own day and age.

David is a qualified Dachau guide; here he is explaining the history of the site to Hili Tropper, Israeli Minister of Sport and Culture.

In 2006, he received the Outstanding Teacher Award from the University of Chicago and then in 2009, on the recommendation of Cambridge University, won the ITC Teacher of the year award.

David also has an abiding interest in ancient history and archaeology. Here he examines a Cheiroballistra at a Roman historical festival.

He is the man behind the extensive “Traces of Evil” website which compares Third Reich sites in a “then and now” format. David is a qualified guide for the Dachau Memorial and is also accredited by Yad Vashem.
